IC 1274 and Friends
IC 1274 is an emission nebula in the constellation Sagittarius, located at the top left of the image. The object was discovered in 1892 by Edward Emerson Barnard. NGC 6559 can be found at the bottom left. Just to the right of it is the planetary nebula PN G006.7–02.2, discovered by Minkovski 1946.
The data were acquired in Namibia at the Old Garden Observatory in collaboration with Markus Blauensteiner and Oliver Schneider. The image is a classic LRGB composite, with north at the top.

Hello, my name is Martin Rusterholz. I’m a Swiss amateur astrophotographer living near Zurich, the biggest town in Switzerland. My interest in astronomy started when I was 16. At that time, I built my first Newtonian telescope and mount. I studied physics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) which was the only study including at least some aspects of astronomy and astrophysics.
