NGC 383 Group of Galaxies (Arp 331)
NGC 383 group of galaxies, also known as Arp 331, is a galaxy chain in constellation Pisces. Its central member, NGC 383, is the biggest galaxy slightly right from the center of the image. It lies at a distance of about 209 million lightyears and has a true diameter of about 135’000 lightyears. NGC 379, NGC 380, NGC 383, NGC 384 and NGC 385 (from top to bottom) are suspected to be closely related. North is up in this image.
